Sanna Valvanne is an innovative choir conductor and performer from Finland. She is the founding director of the Sing & Shine Choirs and the Artistic Director of the Tampere Vocal Music Festival 2017. She is known world wide for her unique work and method with choirs "Sing and Shine with Body and Soul".

Sing & Shine Choirs were founded in 2016 by Sanna to provide creative, expressive, empowering, and freeing vocal and performance training for all ages in Espoo, Finland. The choirs have in a short time grown into a loving and inspiring community. 100 enthusiastic singers from ages 6 to senior citizens rehearse and perform in six ensembles and as one choir family. Through charity workshops and community projects with refugees, elderly people, and schools, the singers engage in building an open and welcoming community for all people in the Helsinki Capital area.
The mission is to share the boundless joy, love and power of singing with everyone!

Sanna has her Master's Degree in Music, from the Sibelius-Academy, Helsinki, Finland.
She is a graduate of the world famous Tapiola Choir.
In 1994, as the vocal trainer of the Tapiola choir, Sanna started creating and developing her own vocal exercises and approach to singing by combining her knowledge and experiences from extensive studies in
voice, music, movement, theater, yoga and dance.
Sanna's goal is to help everyone discover the free, natural and healthy voice, so that we can all sing and express ourselves fearlessly and boundlessly. Sing and Shine With Body And Soul-method is a result of Sanna's journey with her own voice, guided by her love and passion for singing.
Sanna has founded and conducted children's and youth choirs since 1998, in both Finland and USA. Currently Sanna is working in Finland with her Sing & Shine Choirs and as the Artistic Director of Tampere Vocal Music Festival 2017, expanding her work to all ages, including also adults and the elderly.
Sanna's home is also in New York City, where for the past 5 years as the founding director of her children's performance ensemble Sing & Shine Kids and the choir conductor with El Sistema inspired programs, she worked with children and young people whose access to music programs was limited. From New York Sanna led community projects with her former children's choir singers in Finland forming the youth choir collective Sing & Shine Singers in 2014.
Whether from Helsinki or New York, Sanna continues to travel around the world as a popular guest conductor and workshop leader.Sharing her contagious enthusiasm, energy and method, she awakens thousands of choirs, singers and conductors to the power and joy of singing without boundaries.
